Mill Rebuild
& Overhaul

Turn-key teardown, machining, balancing, and reassembly of Raymond Roller Mills — restored to original spec, in-house.

The Work

Your Mill, Back To Spec

A worn Raymond mill costs you fineness, throughput, and power. We bring it back. Send us the assembly and we tear it down, measure every surface, and rebuild what’s worn — machining, fabricating, hard-surfacing, and balancing every part in-house before it ships back ready to run.

How It Works

The Rebuild Process

01

Assess & Inspect

We tear down the assembly, measure every wear surface, and document what is salvageable vs. what needs replacement — then quote it straight.

02

Reverse Engineer

No print? We model the worn part from measurements and originals so the rebuilt mill matches Raymond spec, not a guess.

03

Machine & Fabricate

Turning, milling, grinding, welding, and hard surfacing — all in-house, held to ±0.0005 in. on critical fits.

04

Balance & Assemble

Rolls and rotating assemblies are dynamically balanced to G2.5, then reassembled and checked.

05

Inspect & Ship

Final dimensional inspection, material certs, and a balance report ship with every rebuild. Crated and freighted to your plant.

The Advantage

Why Central Machine & Fabrication

Manufacturer, not a middleman

We machine and fabricate under one roof. No outsourcing, no markup on someone else’s work.

50 years on Raymond mills

Since 1976 we’ve done little else. The institutional knowledge is in the building.

Full machine shop

25,000 sq ft of CNC turning, milling, grinding, balancing, and heavy fabrication.

Down-mill turnaround

Stocked parts ship in days; rush rebuild service keeps your plant from sitting idle.

Questions

Rebuild FAQ

How long does a full mill rebuild take?

A typical overhaul runs 3–5 weeks from receipt of the assembly, depending on scope and which parts need replacement vs. rebuild. We schedule around your outage and offer rush service when a mill is down.

Do I ship you the whole mill, or just the worn parts?

Either. Most customers send the journal assembly, rolls, and ring; some ship the complete mill for a turn-key overhaul. We will tell you up front what we need to see.

Can you rebuild parts from a mill that’s no longer supported?

Yes — discontinued and obsolete Raymond models are a specialty. We reverse-engineer from the worn part and reproduce it to original spec.

What certifications come with a rebuild?

Material certs, hardness results, dimensional inspection reports, and a dynamic balance report. Traceability back to the heat is standard.

Do you offer hard surfacing as an alternative to replacement?

When the core is sound, hard surfacing restores the wear surface at a fraction of replacement cost. We assess and recommend the lower-cost path honestly.

Will the rebuilt mill perform like new?

Held to the original print and balanced to G2.5, a properly rebuilt mill returns to its original fineness and throughput. We stand behind the work.

Down mill? We move fast.
